About The Project
Thankfully, I have plenty of yarn to make another due to my original order error. :D
I finished this with my morning cup of coffee. I’m not particularly jumping for joy, although, the more I look at the picture the more I am okay with it. The circumference IS wider because I crocheted on additional increase round. My immediate concern is that perhaps I did not get the right height/length? And the brim, is a little wonky.
I am happier with the ear placement.
I will present to the parents and hopefully be present upon placement upon baby’s head, so I can see for myself how it fits because this is the second time I have made hats for babies and they have not fit!@#! I know nothing is exact, but there must be a standard, right? Whatever, it’s just annoying and nothing I can’t get over. :D
I just realized why I am no liking this version as much; the round connections are obvious and open-spaced; unlike the first one. I missed something this time, where there was an extra stitch or two that closed that space. Oh well…it’s not that bad, only to a trained eye.
About The Pattern
”Baby Bear” Simple Baby Beanie by Rachel Glassco
I think my overall feelings about the project tend towards the negative because of the way the pattern is written: an altered increase order.
The ear portion of the pattern is ideal.
I despise sewing stuff together…ESPECIALLY in third dimension.
In retrospect, if the parents would like another I will use a standard increase to the same diameter on this hat see if I get a better shape. I will also pay more attention to the round connections, making sure they are more unseen.
