About The Project Name

Pepper by Butthole Surfers is an odd tune, but appropriate for the yarn this cowl is made from, Cayenne. For those even more familiar with the album – ElectricLarryLand – you’ll gain an even greater respect for the way I felt knitting this piece.

About The Yarn

Feza Cayenne

Fiber Content: 40% Cotton, 49% Acrylic, 11% Nylon
Yarn Color: 08
Yarn Weight: 4, Worsted

I’ve used this before, when I made I Feel Free…four years ago! When these last two skeins popped up in my stash, I was eager to rid myself of them, especially when I discovered two noticeably different dye lots.

About The Project

Alternating between crochet and knit projects, it was time to knit, despite having attempted previously to crochet something and just not feeling it. Besides, I had crocheted the stuff before.

At first I was going to alternate every two rows. I struggle knitting small objects in-the-round, because I think I am missing the 24-inch cables from my set. Very frustrating. Out of frustration, and in the end, I doubled the yarn cast on enough stitches to span the cable length and set off in a 2×2 rib.

Wanting to be different, on the fourth round I changed it up with a K2TOG, YO, P2TOG, YO. Wanting to be even more different, after another three rows of 2×2 rib, I changed to back loop. Too difficulty and really over it, I left it – evidenced in the photo.

As such, this is a donation to charity. The mistake aside, I pretty much created a faux, twisting cable, bias stitch.
